I am not in the restaurant business, but I wanted to try this product since cleaning grates and grills is such an unpleasant job. This is a very effective product and reasonably priced, but it must be used with great care in a well ventilated area (I used it outdoors) and with hand and eye protection. I used it to clean the grates from my oven and from my barbecue grill. I placed the grates on a large piece of cardboard. I poured the product into a plastic drinking cup and applied the product with a paint brush with synthetic bristles. The product promptly dissolved the cup and the synthetic bristles, and took the sealer coat off my driveway surface where it had spilled out of the dissolved cup. Interestingly, the cardboard was impervious to the product. So..... I completed the job with the spray version. The final effect was excellent, but as an amateur, I don't think I'll be using this product a great deal. I will leave it to the pros.

I used it on a waffle cone maker that was so bad you could not see the grids on the plate. It did take multable applications but the plates now like like new. One hint, if the carbon is really baked on try and use a Dremel tool to grind off the worst on the carbon. I cleaned two machines and still have over half of the qt left.

We run a commercial kitchen and for all of your built up black carbon on pots, pans and waffle irons, use this product with confidence. Pour some on, let it soak, gently brush and wash it away. Excellent product.
