The unit I received was cracked (like it was dropped or smashed in the box), but seems to work fine. The timer itself works well as it is loud and the 4 tones are distinct. My only problem(s) with this unit are that there is no off switch and if you are using batteries rather than a power supply, it drains them quite quickly.
Pros: loud, 4 distinct tones
Cons: poor battery life, no "off" switch

I really like the timer but you have to hold it with both hands to set it. It takes a lot of pressure. If you are holding spoons etc it is impossible without putting them down.

This alarm makes the fire alarm at the building where I work sound like a bike horn.
