I had an older HATCO FF warmer. 250W top element was underpowered. The unit was built of the same parts as the new 500W model except the element was 250W. This element Bolted right in, no problems. If you decide to do the same, make sure your unit can handle 500W first by checking the rest of the parts or calling HATCO.
